High-Rise Condominium Retrofit Data Call
During the 2019 Legislative session, the Florida Legislature passed House Bill 7103, which became effective July 1, 2019. One of the provisions of HB 7103 mandated that the State Fire Marshal issue a data call to all local fire officials to collect data regarding high-rise condominiums greater than 75 feet in height which have not retrofitted with a fire sprinkler system or an engineered life safety system.  It is essential that all applicable jurisdictions participate in this data call to ensure our mandated data report to the Legislature is complete.  All responses are due by March 31, 2020.
The Division of State Fire Marshal has developed this survey and the accompanying spreadsheet to assist in the collection of the data for this request.  When responding to this data call, please complete all survey questions and then attach the fully populated spreadsheet, which should be renamed with your jurisdiction’s name and FDID number.  Please make sure to include all high-rise condominiums within your jurisdiction that are required to retrofit with a fire sprinkler system or engineered life safety system, regardless of whether the retrofitting has already been accomplished.
NOTE:  This data call only applies to high-rise condominiums and does not include apartments or timeshares.
If you have any questions about this data call or the completion of the survey or spreadsheet, please contact Casia Sinco, Chief of Fire Prevention, at casia.sinco@myfloridacfo.com or (850) 413-3620.
